About John Ballis, - Author of "The Wheel of Life's 8 keys to success"
John has worked for many years in a variety of industries, ranging from the running of franchise businesses to the health industry and has learnt the importance of spiritual awareness and of balance in your life. He has found his passions lie in the fields of natural health and the environment.
John has had a number of different and varied occupations over his lifetime. While studying Chemical engineering at Swinburne he was catering manager for the student union and when he finished his studies he decided to go into the restaurant industry with his first restaurant being in Elizabeth St, Melbourne. From here he moved onto the retail poultry industry where he owned and operated several shops across Melbourne, later incorporating a factory producing manufactured poultry products.
After this John proceeded to setup and became the Managing Director / CEO for a string of retail delicatessens which began from a few to an outlet in every major shopping centre in Victoria, starting in Melbourne and reaching as far out as Mildura. This huge task included setting up the systems for some of the first franchise stores in this state.
John then decided, once again to change direction and for the next four years he completed a number of qualifications in the Alternative Health industry, including degrees in Naturopathy, Homeopathy and Remedial Therapies.
He then set up his first Naturopathic practice in Albert Park in Melbourne. Over the next 15 years he gained a number of further qualifications including a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and a trainer in Meditation. He moved from being a sole practitioner to setting up and operating a multidisciplinary clinic with a number of practitioners. When the lease ran out he moved on to operate in conjunction with Zoeros.
John’s next life shift was to the environment; he designed and built a 10-star rated energy efficient house in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, incorporating all the Feng Shui standards in design and functionality. Although he naturally had tradesmen for the legally required areas of plumbing and electricity, he built the rest of the house with the loving care and help of family and friends.
A natural progression from this project was to move into Property Investment, Venture Capital and other Business Investments with a focus on only investing in areas where his ethics and passions lie, being mainly the environment and the betterment of all beings.
John has over the years coached and mentored many people in both business and lifestyle. He is currently a director in a company called Mindeze Health that is producing homeopathic health products as a healing alternative.
At the moment John’s main focus has been on writing books. He spends most of his time working from home with his wife and being there for his two children.
